We Walk to Remember for Holocaust Remembrance April 11th-18th

On Sunday April 11th –April 18th over 100 AEPi chapters from across the US, Canada, and Israel will participate in “We Walk to Remember,” one of the most meaningful and important initiatives in our Fraternity’s history.

In honor of Yom Ha’shoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the brothers of AEPi will walk their respective campuses in silence, wearing signs that read “Never Forget” and handing out literature describing all that we will pay tribute to on this most solemn occasion.  Additionally, brothers will have the opportunity to participate in our partner B’nai B’rith’s “Unto Every Person There is a Name” program, a name reading initiative.  The total time commitment could be as little as 30 minutes or as long as you choose.  As few as 10 brothers or as many as 100 can make an impact during this walk.  Your chapter can also look for co-sponsors of the walk with other Jewish and/or Greek organizations.

If you were at conclave you saw the “We Walk to Remember” video.  It is very inspiring and can give you a true sense of the initiatives impact.  The “We Walk to Remember” was spearheaded by our brothers of the Alpha Chapter in 2006.  Both of these links have chapters participating in the Walk.  We Walk Video 1 or We Walk Video 2

As the memory of the Holocaust continues to fade around the world, and as more and more schools are removing the study of the Holocaust from their curriculum, it is our responsibility to bring its memory and its lessons to the heart of the campus and to the forefront of civil discourse.

Last year we had 63 chapters participate. Please have your chapter join this year in the Holocaust Remembrance Day, where we look to have over 100 chapters participating.
